Preserving 106 Hectares of Amazon Rainforest

Each Taozen Expedition in the Putumayo region of the Colombia Amazon is hosted in collaboration with a local, community-owned organisation dedicated to the preservation of 106 hectares of tropical rainforest in the Andean-Amazonian foothills of Colombia, one of the five most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.

The natural reserve where we host the Putumayo retreats helps keep the jungle protected from deforestation and stewarded by those who live in relationship with it. In addition to financial contributions, our journeys in both Colombia and Brazil include the planting of ayahuasca vines and chacruna plants as a way to pay it forward to the future.

This act of reciprocity is done together with the participants who choose our containers, and under the guidance of the native wisdom keepers, such as taitas, pajés, curanderos, etc.
