Bukun Mapua, eldest son of Chief Tuim Nova Era, is a young leader, agroforestry agent, and Txana of the Espelho da Vida Village, located in the Huni Kuin indigenous land of the Humaitá River, in the state of Acre, Brazil.
From a very young age, he has dedicated himself to learning traditional songs and ancestral knowledge under the guidance of the elders in his family. He has undergone sacred diets that deepened his connection to the spiritual wisdom of his people.
With great artistic talent, his original songs have gained national and international recognition, representing the strength and beauty of the Huni Kuin culture.
As an agroforestry agent, Bukun also aims to develop a reforestation project in his village, combining traditional knowledge with sustainable practices to regenerate the Amazon jungle and strengthen his people’s food and spiritual sovereignty.
